中國對美國教育與日俱增的渴望

在過去，出國讀書是無法考上當地頂尖學校的學生所採取的替代方案。但時至今日，學生和家長拋棄當地學校，反而投奔美國拿學位。

多數家長甚至決定早在高中就送孩子去美國，以增加他們進入常春藤名校的機會。他們不希望孩子日以繼夜地為了在高考拿到好成績而拚命，高考是中國大學錄取學生的依據標準。家長想要孩子有美國式的教育，教育的重點擺在學生本身，他的需求為何，未來想做些甚麼。

由於中國最近的經濟蓬勃發展，許多家長有錢能送孩子出國，並給付全額學費。這對面臨預算減縮的美國大學當然相當誘人。最近的數據顯示，中國學生目前就讀於美國的人數成長23%，他們構成哈佛、耶魯和普林斯頓大學國際學生人數的絕大部分。

為滿足這不斷成長的國際教育需求，許多美國大學，例如紐約大學，都在中國當地創辦分校。許多中國高中將國際體系納入課程中，例如國際文憑課程和A-levels教育評等。

(Local) Chinas Increasing Desire for US Education

In the past, studying abroad was the alternative chosen by students who werent able to secure a place in top local universities. Nowadays, students and their parents are forsaking local schools in favor of getting a degree in the US.

Most parents even decide to send their children to the US as early as high school to better their chance of getting admitted into an ivy-league university. They dont want their children to concentrate day and night on getting a good grade on the Gaokao, which is the only thing Chinese universities consider in admitting students. They want the American style of education where the focus is placed on the student, what his needs are and what he wants to do in the future.

Due to Chinas recent economic boom, many parents are wealthy enough to send their children and pay full tuition. This, of course, makes them very attractive to US universities that are experiencing budget cuts. Recent statistics show that the number of Chinese students currently studying in the US increased by 23% and they make up most of the international student population in Harvard, Yale and Princeton.

To meet this increasing demand for international education, several US universities, like New York University, have launched local branches in China. Many Chinese high schools have also included international systems such as International Baccalaureate and A-levels in their curriculum.
